The Best Test for Emotional Intelligence: EQ-i 2.o

The wheel diagram below provides a concise overview of emotional intelligence.  It is the model of emotional intelligence that formed the basis of research for the EQ-i 2.0.  The EQ-i 2.0 test itself has been tested, being verified for validity and reliability.

Start with Self-Perception at the top and read clockwise around the wheel graphic.  Notice that all the subscales of the EQ-i 2.0 are listed in the inner wheel:  Self-Regard, Self-Actualization, Emotional Self-Awareness, Emotional Expression, Assertiveness, Independence, Interpersonal Relationships, Empathy, Social Responsibility, Problem Solving, Reality Testing, Impulse Control, Flexibility, Stress Tolerance, and Optimism.

Are you a little curious about where you compare with others (the normative group for the study) on these aspects of emotional intelligence?

Choose Your Steps Wisely

Making life changes requires effort. It's as if we all have a stack of "effort chips" that we can spend on a problem.

People who say they have "tried everything" to change usually mean that they have spent all their effort chips on the problem.

The key is to spend your effort chips strategically. When you find leverage, the problem gets fixed before your effort chips run out.

The 12 skills are about spending your "effort chips" wisely.
