The instructions for using this worksheet are contained in the PDF document, but you can also read the instructions here.

Skill 4  Naming and Rating the Intensity of Anger-Related Emotions

There are two anger management worksheets for Skill 4.  The first worksheet is a tool for learning how to name the anger-related emotions that you felt in a specific situation.  It also guides you to become more aware the anger-related feelings you have while you are remembering the situation (e.g., while you are completing the worksheet and thinking about the situation).

Download Skill 4-1 PDF Worksheet here.

The second worksheet for skill 4 builds on the first one.  Once you have identified the angry feelings (“I’m annoyed!”) in the first worksheet, the second one asks you to rate the intensity of the feeling (“Just how annoyed was I?”).

Choose Your Steps Wisely

Making life changes requires effort. It's as if we all have a stack of "effort chips" that we can spend on a problem.

People who say they have "tried everything" to change usually mean that they have spent all their effort chips on the problem.

The key is to spend your effort chips strategically. When you find leverage, the problem gets fixed before your effort chips run out.

The 12 skills are about spending your "effort chips" wisely.
